BIM-Window is a utility that enables 3270 SNA and non-SNA terminals to have up to 16 concurrent sessions with host applications like CICS, running under one of several operating systems. BIM-Window allows each user to have up to 16 logical terminals at their disposal.

For example, one session can connect to a production CICS, and a second session can connect to a test CICS. A user can test CICS programs under the test CICS, then quickly switch to the production CICS session to view the program source by pressing a PF or PA key.

BIM-Window also compresses screens being sent to terminals by removing strings of identical characters. This reduces transmission time and improves an application’s response time under BIM-Window.
