Finding great mainframe technology talent can be challenging.

With only a few institutions offering structured training for mainframe technologists, we sought creative ways to maintain a rich and diverse workforce to continue to propel our industry forward for many years to come.

In 2021, CSI International launched the z/Talent® Academy--an apprenticeship program that trains tomorrow’s software developers for work in our mainframe industry.

This 16-month programs utilizes classroom and practical training best practices to provide apprentices with the tools and skills they need to work as entry-level developers in our organization.

The program follows a semester-like scheme used at most colleges and universities. We are working with a local university to provide college credit for all of the classes we teach. John Rankin—the founder of CSI International—uses his decades of experience and education to instruct these students.
